Is VZAM350 enough for my team?
That depends on team size, load and the applications you also want to run. VZAM350 gives you 8 guaranteed CPU cores, 16 GB RAM and 160 GB NVMe storage just for you. Why do the Zammad servers start at VZAM350?
Besides the application, Zammad needs a PostgreSQL database and Redis, and the vendor recommends search with Elasticsearch. It states at least 6 GB RAM and a further 4 GB if Elasticsearch runs on the same server. With 8 CPU cores, 16 GB RAM and 160 GB NVMe storage, VZAM350 is well above that and leaves room for Zammad including search, even when several teams work with it or many tickets and attachments accumulate. If it is no longer enough later, you move to VZAM450; your tickets are kept.
How much storage do tickets and attachments take up?
Zammad stores tickets in the database and attachments on the server; identical attachments are stored only once. How much accumulates depends heavily on your ticket volume and the size of the attachments, and the vendor gives no blanket recommendation either. With 160 GB NVMe storage, VZAM350 offers plenty of space for many teams. We are happy to check with you whether the size suits your volume.
Do I get root access?
No. You work via SSH; we handle installation, updates and monitoring. VZAM350 is a managed server: because we take responsibility for secure operation, root access is not included. For you this means no effort for patches and maintenance, and more time for your projects. If you need additional software or a special configuration, our specialists set it up for you by arrangement.
Can you install additional applications?
Yes, by arrangement – for example email accounts, further channels or integrations. This turns your server into a complete development and project environment, looked after by a single provider.
