Where should a small business start?
The most important foundation is a working backup: only if you back up your data separately from your own systems can you recover quickly after a ransomware attack or hardware failure. As a second step we recommend endpoint protection with EDR for all workstations and servers. If you use Microsoft 365, Hornetsecurity for email security and backup completes the picture. We are happy to advise you on the right order for your business.
Where is my data stored?
Your Acronis backups are stored in the data centre in Frankfurt am Main and therefore in Germany. Data is transferred and stored encrypted, and operation is GDPR compliant. On request we additionally store your backups geo-redundantly for a surcharge. Hornetsecurity operates its services in European data centres. LCube itself is certified to ISO/IEC 27001 and supports your security solutions personally.
What is the difference between backup and disaster recovery?
A backup saves your data so that you can restore lost files, databases or entire systems. Disaster recovery goes one step further: if a server or an entire site fails, your critical systems start directly in the Acronis Cloud and your operations continue while your own infrastructure is being restored. Disaster recovery only incurs costs when it is actually used.
What does endpoint protection add to an antivirus?
Classic antivirus software detects known malware. EDR, by contrast, continuously monitors your endpoints for suspicious behaviour, analyses events with AI-assisted methods and isolates threats automatically. XDR also includes email, user identities and Microsoft 365. With MDR, security experts monitor your systems around the clock – without you having to build your own security operations centre.
Do I need Acronis and Hornetsecurity?
That depends on your environment. Acronis backs up and protects servers, virtual machines, workstations, websites and NAS and also offers a pure Microsoft 365 backup. Hornetsecurity is focused specifically on Microsoft 365 and combines email security, archiving and backup. Many businesses use Acronis for their systems and Hornetsecurity for Microsoft 365. We are happy to put together the right combination for you.
Who sets up and looks after the solutions?
We do. We set up backups, disaster recovery plans and endpoint protection for you, connect your servers and workstations and test the restore. Afterwards we keep an eye on alerts and backups and are your personal contact for questions and security incidents. This way you benefit from professional security without having to build up your own specialist staff.
