When is GitLab VEP Cloud Silver worth it instead of a GitLab server?
Our GitLab servers Team to Enterprise run as managed vServers with fixed resources. GitLab VEP Cloud Silver offers the same CPU and memory on our redundant cloud platform with 99.9% stated availability, snapshots and resources that we adjust without reinstalling. This pays off if an outage noticeably holds up your development or your usage fluctuates strongly.
Which configuration do I need?
L has the same resources as our GitLab Team, which we recommend for up to approx. 100 users, XL like GitLab Business with approx. 500 and XXL like GitLab Enterprise with approx. 1,000 users. Many parallel pipelines, the container registry or security scans need more resources. We are happy to advise you based on your current usage.
Can I move to GitLab VEP Cloud Gold later?
Yes. Silver and Gold run on the same platform. If your availability requirements rise, we move your GitLab environment to GitLab VEP Cloud Gold with 99.99%, geo-redundancy and backup in an independent data centre. We plan the switch so that your team can keep working with as little interruption as possible.
Can you take over our existing GitLab instance?
Yes. We take over your existing GitLab instance via backup and restore and then update to the current version. We plan the migration together with you so that your team can carry on working as smoothly as possible – whether you are moving from your own server, another provider or one of our GitLab servers.

GitLab VEP Cloud Silver is designed for long-term, business-critical operation. With a 12-month term we can provide the stated availability of 99.9% and the redundant infrastructure it requires at predictable monthly prices.
