GitLab Security Node – security scanning on every push
With the GitLab Security Node your source code, dependencies and containers are automatically checked for vulnerabilities on every push. The results appear right in your GitLab – in the pipeline, in the merge request and in your projects' security area.
- Your own scan server: your projects are never processed together with those of other customers, every scan runs in a fresh container.
- No changes to your GitLab server: the node registers as a runner and only opens outgoing connections.
- Your code stays with you: it never leaves your GitLab and the security node – both located in Germany.
- Always up to date: vulnerability databases are updated every six hours, and we maintain the scanners for you.
- Also for your own GitLab: the node works with our managed GitLab servers and with your own instance (GitLab Omnibus 17 or later).

What does "managed GitLab server" mean?
A managed GitLab server is your own turnkey GitLab instance on your own server, fully operated by us. We take care of installation, GitLab and operating system updates, security configuration, backups and 24/7 monitoring. You and your team simply use GitLab – with no administration effort on your side. If you have questions, you talk directly to our GitLab specialists, not a call centre. That way you can focus on building software while your data stays safely in German data centres.
How many users and projects can I create?
As many as you like: users, groups, projects and repositories are unlimited on every plan and cost nothing extra. There are no per-user licence fees – you only pay the monthly price of your plan. The only limits are the resources of your server, such as disk space. If your needs grow, you can move up to a larger plan at any time, so GitLab stays fast as your requirements increase.
Which plan fits my team?
As a guideline, we recommend GitLab Team for up to approx. 100 users, Business up to approx. 500, Professional up to approx. 750 and Enterprise up to approx. 1,000 users. What matters most is the number of active users and how you work: many CI/CD pipelines, large repositories or an extensive container registry need more power. Yes. You can test our managed GitLab server free of charge and without obligation for one month. This lets you get to know GitLab, our service and the performance of the server with your own team and projects under real conditions before choosing a plan. Can you migrate my existing GitLab instance?
Yes, moving your existing GitLab instance to LCube is free of charge. After ordering, tell us your GitLab version and we will agree on a schedule with you. We install the same version, restore your backup and then update to the current GitLab version. Besides the backup we need the files /etc/gitlab/gitlab.rb and /etc/gitlab/gitlab-secrets.json – we are happy to create the backup for you. You switch providers without any technical effort on your side.
Community Edition or Enterprise Edition?
We install the free Community Edition, which is perfectly sufficient for most teams. It is set up so that you can switch to the Enterprise Edition at any time. We are happy to integrate an existing Enterprise licence, and as a GitLab partner we also support you with licensing. This way you start without additional licence costs and can move to the Enterprise Edition later whenever you need it.
Can I use my own domain and our SMTP server?
Yes, you can run GitLab under your own domain and send mail through your own SMTP server. Simply point your domain to the IP address of the server and tell us the domain name – we do the rest. We also add your SMTP details so that GitLab sends mail through your mail server. You do not have a suitable domain yet? On request, we can register a new domain for you as well.
Where are the servers located – is it GDPR compliant?
Yes, operation is GDPR compliant: all our GitLab servers are located in German data centres, our team works in Germany, and LCube itself is certified to ISO/IEC 27001. Your backups are additionally stored in an independent data centre run by another provider. For companies that care about data protection and keeping control of their source code, your own GitLab server at LCube is a safe choice – looked after by specialists with hosting experience since 1995.
Do you offer GitLab runners?
Yes. We provide pre-configured GitLab runners for builds and CI/CD pipelines – simple runners as well as runners with special requirements, for example with GPUs. On request we also run the runners as a managed service for you. For security and stability reasons runners always run separately from the GitLab server, so compute-heavy pipelines do not affect your GitLab instance. Talk to us and we will tailor the runners to your projects.
How can I scan my code in GitLab for vulnerabilities?
The easiest way is our GitLab Security Node: your own scan server automatically checks source code, secrets, dependencies and containers on every push and shows the results right in the pipeline and the merge request. Every scan runs in a fresh container, and your code never leaves your GitLab and the security node – both located in Germany. It works with our GitLab servers and with your own GitLab instance.
