Managed Kubernetes – your cluster at the push of a button

Setting up and running a Kubernetes cluster takes a lot of effort: many components have to be installed, configured and kept up to date. With managed Kubernetes on our VEP Cloud the system handles these steps for you – choose a single or highly available cluster and receive your login details a few minutes later.

Managed Kubernetes is ideal for development teams, agencies and companies that want to run microservices, web applications or CI/CD pipelines in containers without their own platform specialists. Your data stays in German data centres on our own VEP cloud – a GDPR-compliant alternative to US hyperscalers.

Management free of charge – you only pay for CPU, RAM and storage per hour

Frequently asked questions about managed Kubernetes

What is included in managed Kubernetes?

Managed Kubernetes includes automatic installation of your cluster, one-click updates, the cloud portal for management and the infrastructure of our VEP Cloud with redundant storage. You choose a single or highly available cluster and work as usual with kubectl, Helm and YAML manifests – without vendor lock-in. Kubernetes management itself is free of charge; you only pay for the resources of your nodes by the hour. Try it free for one month

How much does managed Kubernetes cost?

Kubernetes management and the cloud portal are free of charge – you only pay for the resources of your nodes by the hour. One CPU core costs 0,0076 € per hour (at most €5.66 per month), 1 GB RAM 0,0088 € (at most €6.56) and 1 GB storage 0,0003 € (at most €0.22), each incl. 19% VAT. The monthly cap per resource keeps your costs predictable. The best way to start is a free one-month trial. Go to the free trial

What is the difference between a single and a highly available cluster?

A single cluster has one control plane and is suitable for development, testing, training and smaller internal applications. A highly available cluster spreads the control plane across several nodes – if one fails, the cluster keeps running, so there is no single point of failure. The control plane is the brain of Kubernetes: it manages the state of the cluster and schedules your containers onto the nodes. For production applications we recommend the highly available option.

How quickly is my cluster ready?

Your cluster is ready within a few minutes, because installation runs fully automatically. There is no need to set up the control plane, network and nodes by hand: you choose a single or highly available cluster plus the number and size of nodes, and a few minutes after starting you receive your login details. You can then deploy your applications straight away with kubectl, Helm or from your CI/CD pipeline.

How do I update Kubernetes?

You install new Kubernetes versions at the push of a button in the cloud portal – without complex manual upgrades of individual components. This keeps your cluster up to date and secure with little effort. If you wish, we also take care of updates and monitoring for you, so your team can focus entirely on its own applications. Simply talk to our specialists. Ask for advice

Can I limit my costs?

Yes. Each resource has a monthly cap: one CPU core costs at most €5.66, 1 GB RAM at most €6.56 and 1 GB storage at most €0.22 per month, each incl. VAT. On top of that, you decide yourself how many nodes and resources your cluster uses. Billing is by the hour, so you only pay for the resources you actually use. Kubernetes management is free of charge.

Can I try managed Kubernetes for free?

Yes, you can try managed Kubernetes free of charge and without obligation for one month. You install your cluster at the push of a button and work under real conditions on our VEP Cloud. The trial ends automatically, so there is no need to cancel. If you decide to continue, your data and login details are kept and you only pay for the resources you use. Go to the free trial

Where is my data stored?

Your data is stored exclusively in German data centres on our own VEP Cloud. Operation is GDPR compliant, and LCube itself is certified to ISO/IEC 27001. Our team works in Germany and supports you personally – no call centre. This makes managed Kubernetes a particularly good fit for businesses that value data protection and want to run their applications on a platform made in Germany.

Where can I find Kubernetes basics?

Answers to general questions – such as what a cluster or a pod is, or how it differs from Docker – can be found on our Kubernetes page. In short: Kubernetes is an open-source platform that automatically distributes, starts, monitors and scales containers across several servers. A cluster consists of the control plane, which acts as the control centre, and the nodes on which your applications run. For specific questions our specialists are happy to help personally.
