Storage that grows with your data
Your files are stored on dedicated block storage in our German data centre, separate from the server. 100 GB is included in the price. If you need more, we expand the storage in steps of 50 GB for 3,57 € each per month incl. VAT (3,00 € excl. VAT) – independently of the server size.
Simply state the additional storage you need in the field “Your message to the company” when ordering, or contact our support later. On the VEP Cloud, storage costs 8,93 € per 50 GB per month (7,50 € excl. VAT).

What is Nextcloud?
Nextcloud is an open-source platform for files and collaboration. You store and share files, sync calendars and contacts with your devices and work on documents together – similar to well-known cloud services, but on a server you control. With the apps for Windows, macOS, Linux, Android and iOS your data is available everywhere, and you share files with customers or partners via link.
Web hosting or Nextcloud server – which suits me?
For individuals and small teams with moderate amounts of data, Nextcloud in web hosting from the PowerPaket upwards is enough. You install it yourself in Plesk and also take care of the updates. If several employees work with Nextcloud every day, or you need office in the browser or a lot of storage, we recommend the Nextcloud server: it has guaranteed resources, and we take care of updates and backups. Ask for advice
How many users can a Nextcloud server handle?
As a guideline we recommend VNC150 for up to 10, VNC250 for up to 50, VNC350 for up to 150 and VNC450 for up to 300 users. These are recommendations, not fixed limits: what matters is how many users work at the same time, whether they use office in the browser and how large the files are. If the performance is no longer sufficient, you move to a larger server.
How is additional storage charged?
The Nextcloud server includes 100 GB storage. Each additional 50 GB costs 3,57 € per month incl. VAT (3,00 € excl. VAT). We expand the storage independently of the server size, so you only pay for the space your files really need. State the amount you need in the field “Your message to the company” when ordering, or tell our support later.
Who takes care of updates and backups?
With the Nextcloud server, we do: we install the updates of Nextcloud, the apps and the operating system, and we back up the server, the database and your files every day. Your Nextcloud stays current and secured without you having to worry about it. In web hosting you install Nextcloud yourself and also install the updates yourself in Plesk.
Can I edit documents in the browser?
Yes. On the Nextcloud server we set up Nextcloud Office for you, the official office solution of Nextcloud based on Collabora Online. You open documents, spreadsheets and presentations directly in Nextcloud and edit them together with colleagues, even at the same time. Common file formats such as those of Microsoft Office are supported. Your documents do not leave our data centre, because editing also takes place on your server.
Can I use OnlyOffice instead of Nextcloud Office?
Yes, on request. OnlyOffice is closer to Microsoft Office in operation and appearance and is a good fit if you work a lot with Word, Excel and PowerPoint files from customers or partners. Depending on the number of simultaneous users, a licence from the vendor is required, which we install for you. We are happy to discuss which office solution suits your team better. Ask for advice
Nextcloud or Microsoft 365?
Both are good tools for collaboration. Nextcloud is the right choice if you want to keep your files on your own server in Germany and stay independent of a large provider. Microsoft 365 offers the familiar Office world with Teams and Exchange. We support both solutions and help you decide. Microsoft 365

We install the free version of Nextcloud, which offers all the functions most teams need. If you need vendor support, special enterprise features or commitments from Nextcloud itself, you purchase an enterprise licence from the vendor and we install it on your server. Where is my data stored?
In German data centres. The server and storage of your Nextcloud are located in Germany, operation is GDPR compliant, and LCube itself is certified to ISO/IEC 27001. Your files are stored on a server just for you and are never processed together with other customers' data. When you have questions, you reach experienced specialists in Germany who know your environment, rather than a call centre.
