When is VSQ350 worth it compared to VSQ250?
When many projects are analysed at the same time, the code bases are large or the web interface becomes noticeably slower with many users. VSQ350 doubles CPU cores, memory and NVMe storage to 8 cores, 16 GB RAM and 160 GB. This mainly benefits the search index and the database in which SonarQube stores the results of all analyses over time.
How much storage do the analysis results take up?
For each project SonarQube stores the results, metrics and parts of the source code in order to display findings. Older analyses are condensed according to fixed rules, so the requirement does not grow without limit. With many large projects, however, several gigabytes add up. With 160 GB NVMe storage, VSQ350 offers plenty of space for this. We are happy to check with you whether the size suits your projects.
Do I get root access?
No. You work via SSH; we handle installation, updates and monitoring. VSQ350 is a managed server: because we take responsibility for secure operation, root access is not included. For you this means no effort for patches and maintenance, and more time for your projects. If you need additional software or a special configuration, our specialists set it up for you by arrangement.
Can you install additional applications?
Yes, by arrangement – for example SonarQube plugins, your commercial licence or the GitLab integration. This turns your server into a complete development and project environment, looked after by a single provider.
