Questions about ReposOnly Basic
Is 4,000 MB enough for my repositories?
That depends on the size and history of your projects: plain source code usually needs little space, while binary files and long histories need considerably more. If you reach the 4,000 MB limit, we do not block access – you receive an info email and keep working without interruption. If needed, you can move to a larger plan at any time; repositories and developers stay unlimited. Compare all plans
How do I gradually move from SVN to Git in ReposOnly Basic?
You do not have to switch everything at once. Your SVN repositories remain available while you create new Git repositories for individual projects. You carry over the history with common tools such as git svn on your computer and push the result to the new repository via HTTPS. Users, groups and permissions in SVNDevAdmin stay the same. Keep an eye on storage during the switch, as both versions of a project are temporarily stored in the plan.
When is ReposDev a better fit than ReposOnly Basic?
ReposOnly Basic is pure repository hosting. If you also want to run and test your projects in the same plan, ReposDev is the right choice: it includes web space with included domains, PHP, MySQL, email as well as SSH and FTP access. ReposDev Basic also offers 4,000 MB, plus 2 domains and 10 MySQL databases. Note that repositories and websites share the storage there. Our support team will be happy to advise you on switching.

If the 4,000 MB of ReposOnly Basic get tight, you move to ReposOnly Pro with 7,000 MB – so you only pay for the space you actually need. Do I need SSH access for Git?
No, ReposOnly does not require SSH access: you reach your SVN and Git repositories via HTTPS with an official SSL certificate. Every common client supports this, and it usually works even in corporate networks with restrictive firewalls. If you still want to use Git via SSH, for example with key-based authentication, we recommend our Git hosting with SSH access, 2FA and 30 to 300 GB storage.
