That depends on team size, load and the applications you also want to run. VRED 250 gives you 4 guaranteed CPU cores, 8 GB RAM and 80 GB NVMe storage just for you. Can I use SVN and Git side by side on VRED 250?
Yes. On your Redmine server you create SVN and Git repositories side by side, for instance because older projects are still maintained in SVN while new ones are started in Git. Both repository types are integrated into Redmine and linked to the tickets. With 4 CPU cores, 8 GB RAM and 80 GB NVMe storage, VRED 250 offers enough headroom for many repositories and a fast repository view.
Do I need Plesk for my VRED 250?
No, Redmine is already fully set up on VRED 250 and does not require Plesk. Optionally, you can add Plesk Web Pro or Web Host if you also want to manage websites, databases or mailboxes conveniently on the same server – for example for a project website or documentation. This lets you use your server’s guaranteed resources even more flexibly without signing a second contract.
Do I get root access?
No. You work via SSH; we handle installation, updates and monitoring. VRED 250 is a managed server: because we take responsibility for secure operation, root access is not included. For you this means no effort for patches and maintenance, and more time for your projects. If you need additional software or a special configuration, our specialists set it up for you by arrangement.
Can you install additional applications?
Yes, by arrangement – for example RedmineUP plugins, Jenkins or Jira. This turns your server into a complete development and project environment, looked after by a single provider.
