Actual needs depend above all on how intensively you use CI/CD pipelines, the container registry and security scans. We are happy to check with you in advance whether the configuration fits your team.
Can I move to GitLab VEP Cloud Gold XXL later?
Yes. On the VEP Cloud we adjust CPU, memory and storage without reinstalling. As your team or CI/CD usage grows, we move from GitLab VEP Cloud Gold XL to GitLab VEP Cloud Gold XXL without GitLab having to be set up again. We agree the switch with you so that your team can keep working with as little interruption as possible.
What happens if the location fails?
If the Hanover location fails completely due to a major incident, your GitLab on GitLab VEP Cloud Gold XL keeps running at a second location. There the server receives a new IP address – short TTL values for your DNS records ensure that Git clients, runners and integrations reconnect quickly. In addition, a backup is kept in an independent data centre.
How does GitLab VEP Cloud Gold XL differ from GitLab Business?
Both offer 8 vCPU and 16 GB RAM. GitLab Business runs as a managed vServer with fixed resources and a 3-month term. GitLab VEP Cloud Gold XL runs on our redundant cloud platform with 99.99% stated availability, snapshots and resources that we adjust without reinstalling, with a 12-month term. Choose the VEP Cloud if the availability of GitLab is business-critical for your team.
