Java – run web applications with Tomcat
Java is the language of many company applications, specialist portals and interfaces. For web applications with servlets and JSP we offer dedicated Java plans with your own Tomcat instance and Tomcat Manager – set up specifically so that your application runs reliably without you having to administer a server.
For most production applications we recommend Java Basic with 1 GB storage and ten MySQL databases. You can extend the Java memory by 64 or 128 MB if needed. If your application needs considerably more resources or a special environment, we plan it on request on a managed vServer or the VEP Cloud.

Which Java applications can I run?
In our Java plans you run web applications that work in a servlet container – that is, applications with servlets and JSP as well as frameworks that are deployed as a web application in Tomcat. You deploy them via the Tomcat Manager to your own Tomcat instance. Our specialists are happy to check with you in advance whether your application fits.
Can I test the plan for free first?
Yes. You can test the plan free of charge and without obligation for one month: click “Try free for 1 month” or tick the trial option in the order form. After the trial period you receive an email. If you want to continue, book the plan – your data and access details are kept. If you do not reply, the trial plan is deleted and there are no costs. One trial plan is possible per customer.
How much memory is available to my application?
Every Java plan guarantees 64 MB of Java memory. If your application needs more, add 64 MB for €2.49 or 128 MB for €3.99 per month. For applications with considerably higher memory needs we plan a dedicated Java environment on request on a managed vServer or the VEP Cloud.
How do the Java plans differ?
Java Starter, Java Basic and Java Pro each include your own Tomcat instance with Tomcat Manager. They differ in storage (500 MB, 1 GB, 2 GB), traffic and MySQL databases (5, 10, 20). For production web applications with a database we recommend Java Basic. All Java plans in detail
