On our own VEP Cloud platform it runs with committed availability: 99.9% in Silver, 99.99% in Gold with geo-redundancy and backup in an independent data centre. We set up Java (JDK) and Tomcat and keep them up to date.
You adjust vCPU and memory flexibly when your application’s load changes, and extend the storage when needed. We take care of the operating system, monitoring and security; you deploy your application via SSH, via the Tomcat Manager or from your CI/CD pipeline. Add Plesk whenever you need it.

Frequently asked questions about Java on the VEP Cloud
When is Java on the VEP Cloud worthwhile?
When an outage of your Java application puts revenue or processes at risk, for example with customer portals, booking systems or interfaces to other systems. On the VEP Cloud we commit to 99.9% availability (Silver) or 99.99% (Gold), and you adjust vCPU and memory to the load. For applications without such requirements a Java server is enough.
What is the difference between Silver and Gold?
Both run on our VEP Cloud with the same configurations from S to XXL. Silver offers 99.9% availability. Gold offers 99.99% availability, geo-redundancy and a backup in an independent data centre, so your application keeps running even if one site suffers a serious outage. Which level fits depends on how critical your application is.
Can I change the resources later?
Yes. vCPU and memory can be flexibly increased or reduced, for example for a season with high load. Storage can be extended but not reduced. You simply switch to another configuration; our technicians agree the timing with you so that your application is interrupted as briefly as possible.
Who takes care of Java and Tomcat?
We do. We set up Java (JDK) and Apache Tomcat in the version your application needs and install the updates, as well as for the operating system and security. We agree major version changes with you in advance. You deploy and configure your application and keep its code and libraries up to date. There is no root access, but there is SSH.
