Redmine or OpenProject – which fits better?
If the ticket system comes first – for software development, bug tracking or a helpdesk, for example – Redmine is lean, highly customisable and extendable with plugins. If you plan a lot with dates, milestones and dependencies or mix classic and agile projects, OpenProject with Gantt charts, backlogs and boards is usually the better fit. Redmine hosting or Redmine server?
For small and medium-sized teams Redmine hosting is enough. We recommend your own Redmine server for many users, a helpdesk with many requests, custom plugins or if further tools such as Jenkins or Jira should run on the same server. With hosting, projects and users are unlimited and you choose your plan by disk space. A server gives you guaranteed CPU cores, RAM and NVMe storage just for you. Can you install further tools?
Yes. On our servers we install and configure Jira, Confluence or Mattermost as a team chat, for example, by arrangement.
