Why do you recommend VOP250?
With 4 CPU cores, 8 GB RAM and 80 GB NVMe storage, VOP250 has enough headroom when several projects run in parallel, many colleagues work at the same time and documents are stored as attachments. OpenProject then stays responsive at peak times too, for example on Monday morning during weekly planning. For most teams this is the right size; moving to VOP350 later is possible at any time.
Can I mix agile and classic projects on VOP250?
Yes. OpenProject supports classic planning with Gantt charts and milestones as well as agile ways of working with backlogs and boards. Each project uses the modules it needs – a software team works in sprints while a client project with fixed dates is planned in the Gantt chart. All projects are on the same VOP250 and can be evaluated together.
Do I get root access?
No. You work via SSH; we handle installation, updates and monitoring. VOP250 is a managed server: because we take responsibility for secure operation, root access is not included. For you this means no effort for patches and maintenance, and more time for your projects. If you need additional software or a special configuration, our specialists set it up for you by arrangement.
Can you install additional applications?
Yes, by arrangement – for example your Enterprise licence, Mattermost or a GitLab integration. This turns your server into a complete development and project environment, looked after by a single provider. The minimum term is 3 months. VOP250 costs 89,25 € per month or 1.017,45 € per year, both including 19% VAT.
