When is VPLA350 worth it compared to VPLA250?
When many people work with Plane at the same time, large attachments and extensive documentation accumulate or the web interface becomes noticeably slower. VPLA350 doubles CPU cores, memory and NVMe storage to 8 cores, 16 GB RAM and 160 GB. This mainly benefits the database and the background processing, which have more to do with many users and changes.
How much storage do attachments and documents take up?
Plane stores the file attachments of work items and pages on the server. How much accumulates depends heavily on how you work: text-heavy projects need little, teams that attach screenshots, drafts and documents need considerably more. With 160 GB NVMe storage, VPLA350 offers plenty of space for most teams. We are happy to check with you whether the size suits your projects.
Do I get root access?
No. You work via SSH; we handle installation, updates and monitoring. VPLA350 is a managed server: because we take responsibility for secure operation, root access is not included. For you this means no effort for patches and maintenance, and more time for your projects. If you need additional software or a special configuration, our specialists set it up for you by arrangement.
Can you install additional applications?
Yes, by arrangement – for example a GitLab integration, Mattermost or OpenProject. This turns your server into a complete development and project environment, looked after by a single provider.
